Give a Gift to The Media Project
For
over 20 years, Advocates for Youth's Los Angeles-based
Media Project has worked with the entertainment industry,
promoting the placement
of accurate sexual health information and responsible
sexual health images on popular television programs.
Whether by placing information
about emergency contraception or by helping writers
to create scenes that model good parent-child communication
about sexual health,
the project's reach is unsurpassed. One episode of a show
such as Judging Amy or Boston Public reaches approximately
15 million viewers. Shows such as Felicity, Dawson's
Creek, and Moesha reach between three and six million
teens per episode.
